Climate Con Continues
Jon Reisman
In the 1970s, the climate con to justify more government and less freedom was global cooling. The climate con was aided then, as it is today, by a media complex eager to proselytize the unwashed masses that the science was settled and only troglodyte conservatives doubted the truth. In the 1980’s as two decades of cooling subsided, the apocalypse narrative shifted to global warming. That was before the con artists had learned to suppress dissent, stealthily modify the data record and label opponents as flat-earthers and (holocaust) deniers. The climate connivers were not able to get the Senate to ratify the Kyoto Protocol to limit greenhouse gas emissions, destroy freedom and prosperity and have absolutely no effect on global temperatures. Their response was to change the marketing strategy and apocalyptic narrative yet again, this time to climate change. When that proved insufficient, they rolled out Greta Thunberg, data record massage (fraud) (hide the decline) and climate weirding. The latest effort to justify destroying capitalism, freedom and prosperity, enrich and empower global elites and have absolutely no effect on temperature has now been rebranded (by the head of the United Nations of course) as global boiling.
Power hungry politicians (mostly Democrats like Janet Mills, AOC, Biden and Obama, but joined and aided by “independent” Angus King and numerous Republicans including Susan Collins, the late John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney), grant hungry scientists and academics and successfully proselytized true believers in the press, faith and “youth” demographic communities are all on board. If polls and the lying Democrat media complex are to be believed, a majority of Americans have been successfully conned. As this is now a matter of faith, no amount of logic and countervailing evidence is likely to be successful in averting disaster- too many folks have drunk the green Kool-Aid and believe in the omnipotence and wisdom of the climate connivers. Nevertheless, I will persist.
The recent Canadian wildfires (and western US wildfires before them) have been widely and repeatedly attributed to climate change by the connivers and their subservient press proselytizers (including our own local Quoddy Tides.) But the data record showing less global burning has been ignored and suppressed, even when (or maybe especially when) presented in the Wall Street Journal by Bjorn Lomborg courtesy of NASA.
