Yes, We Have No Bananas
Jon Reisman
In 2022, the Democratic Party operatives financially supported a number of “MAGA” Trump Republicans in primary contests because they believed them easier to beat in a general election. In gubernatorial and Senate races in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Arizona and Michigan, they were correct. Politics ain’t beanbag, as the saying goes.
Demented Joe Biden wants a second term, and he (or Dr. Jill and Susan Rice) believes (correctly in my opinion) that the one and possibly only Republican he can most definitely beat (having probably done so once already, albeit with plenty of help from Covid, Fauci, the FBI, the legacy media and 51 lying deep state spooks) is Donald Trump. Having a black Soros-selected New York District Attorney indict the former President is a truly Machiavellian masterstroke (sorry, I know master is a triggering reminder and dog whistle of slavery and white supremacy, but I have not been able to control my implicit racism, white fragility and toxic masculinity since the Mar-A-Largo raid.) The indictment virtually guarantees that Trump will be the Republican nominee, likely losing to Biden again. I do not believe one suburban mom, independent voter or successfully indoctrinated millennial who voted for Biden will change their mind. Election interference is a winning strategy for the left.
Watching clips of the “women” (at least if we don’t listen to Justice Katanji Brown Jackson) of The View, MSNBC “analysts” and various late night “comics” revel in Trump’s indictment, I marveled that so many were so happy at our descent into Banana Republic hood, and so clueless as to the likely consequences in terms of destroying confidence in our justice system and institutions, not to mention exponentially increasing the likelihood of civil war. Trump Derangement Syndrome is apparently worse than long Covid, and elections are apparently about as effective as the vaccine in preventing infection.
It also suggests our banana republic status is probably permanent and irreversible. We are descending (although leftists would say ascending) into Marxist one party authoritarianism and the end of the rule of law in America, but I guess that seems a small price to pay for defeating Hitler and assuring that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion get proper obeisance. Freedom of speech, religion and association are clearly outmoded relics of oppression and are deserving of being unceremoniously dumped on the ash heap of patriarchal white supremacist history.
Maine is a blue state, so I imagine Governor Mills and the Democrats in charge are quite content. The rural 2nd Congressional District is decidedly purple, having voted for Trump, Susan Collins and Jared Golden, but wokism in the 1st Congressional district overwhelms the 2nd. I wonder if the Governor’s climate alarmism adaptation plans will allow for the development of solar powered banana plantations.
