Baileyville’s Octoberfest is set to return next week with a variety of events, and as always, it will offer something for everyone.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, the festivities kick off with Baileyville’s Got Talent at Woodland Elementary School, hosted by Jamie Bohanon. Participants can showcase their talents and skills across four age categories with no entry fee, with trophies and cash prizes for the judges’ choices. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, while students enter free. Organizer Devain Allen can be reached at 207-214-5859 for inquiries.

Friday, Oct. 11, brings a nostalgic movie night at Woodland Elementary School with a screening of the classic E.T., sponsored by USW Local #9546 Union. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the movie starting at 6 p.m. Popcorn, candy, and drinks will be sold, while admission is a non-perishable food donation for the local food pantry. For those unable to attend the movie, non-perishables can still be dropped off to help support the pantry. All children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, Oct. 12, is the big day of the festival, with lots of events for all. From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., the annual craft fair will take place at the high school’s cafeteria. On-site will be around 60 vendors with various wares for sale.

At 11 a.m., the Grand Parade will run through town, with its starting point at the Baileyville Town Office on Broadway Street. More information can be obtained through Jamie Bohanon by calling him at 207-214-3349.

Outside in the parking lot of the high school, beginning at noon and running until 2 p.m., is the Pam Oakes Memorial Car Show.

Vehicle registration is $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Pam Oakes Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a 2024 WHS graduate. Trophies will be awarded in multiple categories, including Best of Show and People's Choice, with a 50/50 raffle also taking place. For more information, contact Avis Miller at 207-214-7574.

Set for 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, a paint and sip fundraiser will be hosted by and take place at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center, 163 Main Street. Instructor Dawn Cates-Wright will guide participants step-by-step in creating a masterpiece on canvas using acrylic paints. Spaces are limited. The fun of Baileyville’s Octoberfest continues on Sunday with the annual fall joker run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Spednic Club or in Grand Lake Stream. Participants will compete for cash prizes by collecting jokers, with Bigfoot making a return for photo ops. There will also be hidden pumpkins for children to find, with prizes awarded to those who capture all five. The Spednic Club will be serving food throughout the day. Sponsoring this year’s joker run is Heatherwood Gardens. More information can be obtained by contacting Erin Guire at 207-214-5021 or Jamie Bohanon at 207-214-3349.

This year Octoberfest concludes on Monday, Oct. 14, with Funday Monday, weather permitting. Families can enjoy inflatable bounce houses, games, and concessions for sale from the Spednic Club, all at the high school ball field, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost to take part in the fun, although donations to the festival are welcome.
