Music on the Green at Flat Iron Park continues each Tuesday evening throughout the summer, offering free live entertainment in downtown Calais. The next concert, set for Tuesday, July 1, will feature Alan Cook performing a blend of Americana folk, blues, and rock beginning at 6:30 p.m. This performance is sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway/Britani Halloway, True Temp, and C&E Feeds. The city’s pool is now open for the season, with public swim hours Monday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Private pool rentals are also available for parties and special events. For more information or to reserve a time, call 207-454-2762.
The Calais Free Library’s children’s summer reading program kicks off this Thursday, June 26, and continues every Thursday through July 31 from noon to 1 p.m. Also for young readers, the library is hosting “Reading with a Ranger,” hosted by Saint Croix Island International Historic Site, each Tuesday through July 22, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. For full program details, contact the library at 207-454-2758.
The Calais City Council will host an Open Public Forum on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the St. Croix #1 Fire Hall on Church Street. The purpose of the forum is to hear public comments regarding the city’s budget and property tax matters. All members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be livestreamed via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86708794113. Please note that while the meeting will be viewable online, public comments will not be accepted through Zoom.
The St. Croix International Garden Club welcomes new members of all experience levels. The club meets on the third Wednesday of each month to tour local gardens and share gardening tips and knowledge. For more information or to get involved, call Tonya Troiani at 207-454-3696.
