The Eastern Maine Electric Co-op’s annual meeting was well attended on Saturday with great music by Cook & Lamb and delicious food provided by East Coast BBQ.  The biggest winner of the many prizes given away was Art Carter.  Not only did he receive a credit to his account for being the oldest attendee, but he also won a door prize and one of the two $500 giveaways.  In a generous gesture, Art donated the $500 cash prize to the Calais Veterans Center. Congratulations to him for his wins and his wonderful act of kindness!

Thursday, July 25, all are invited to attend St. Croix Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours Event.  This will be held at St. Croix Tap & Table (formerly the Riverview Restaurant) beginning at 6 p.m.  There will be some business networking and refreshments, and all will hear from Denise Barker, Director of Economic Development for Calais and Baileyville.

Don’t miss the food sale at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church at 29 Church Street this Saturday, July 27.  This will run from 8 a.m. to noon.

This Sunday, July 28, Rime Nor Reason Farm at 82 Arthur Damon Road in Charlotte invites all to its Open Farm Day. Offered will be samples, tours, some lively roosters, and much more!  This begins at 10 a.m.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 3, for the annual Robbinston Days.  The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. with a touch-a-truck, live music, food, history, and fun, all at the community center there (the former grade school).  You can find it on Facebook for more information.

Send me your news, your shout-outs for good deeds done, or your well wishes to give, and I’ll be sure to share them here. Until next week, I hope you stay well, stay safe, and be happy.
