CCH Reminds Readers March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The CDC recommends you should get screened beginning at the age of 45, but you may need to get screened earlier if you have a history of  inflammatory bowel disease or a family history of colorectal cancer. If you think you are at increased risk for colorectal cancer, please talk to your provider about when you should get screened.

Screenings are available with General Surgeon Thomas Crosslin at Calais Community Hospital and with General Surgeon Aziz Massaad at Down East Community Hospital.

Screenings save lives!
