Beware: Maine Law Mandates Fines for Not Clearing Snow from Vehicle Roof

The morning rush may have you skipping clearing the windshield and rooftop of your vehicle, but those not taking the few minutes necessary to brush off the snow and ice before hitting the road may be slapped with a fine.

Leaving a buildup of snow and ice on one’s windshield poses a threat with the increased likelihood of an accident, said Calais Police Sgt. Matt Vinson.
