Perry Couple with Two Young Children Loses Everything in Fire

By Jayna Smith

A fire at 848 South Meadow Road in Perry last Tuesday resulted in the total loss of a home and “at least two vehicles,” Perry Fire Chief Paula Frost said.

Frost said the fire was started in the garage where the homeowner was working on a vehicle.  It is believed that a spark went into some combustibles, causing them to ignite.

By her count, Frost said, there were 16 “apparatuses pumping and bringing water” to the scene, along with 40 firefighters.
