Middle School Group Hosts Diversity, Equity, Ally Workshops

The Calais Middle School Teen Advocacy Group (TAG) hosted Middle School Pride Day on June 3.
The assembly and workshops were designed by the TAG students to increase awareness and promote respectful behavior around LGBTQ issues.
CHS alumni, students and Equality Maine staff led presentations on gender, diversity, equity and being an ally. Techniques for addressing bullying behaviors were also presented.
Gia Drew and Nem Knight from Equality Maine later met with the Health Center Advisory Board to discuss student support services.
