The Maine Ham Radio Society recognized Alexander resident Roger Holst for his many years of service to Downeast’s ham radio community, public safety and commercial communications. From the Alexander news by Cassie Oakes: Alexander resident Brylea Newman has been a busy girl. She and her grandmother Gert Newman have recently been away on a queens’ retreat in Cambridge, Maine for the week Brylea holds the Miss New England title. All these queens will be heading to Florida for Nationals over July 4th. One of Brylea’s favorite causes as Miss New England is Anti-Bullying. She was instrumental in getting a Buddy Bench for Alexander Elementary School.
