Baileyville’s annual Octoberfest is just around the corner, and organizers say this year’s celebration will once again offer something for everyone — great food, family entertainment, and community spirit.

The festivities kick off on Monday, Oct. 6, with a community supper at the Spednic Club from 4 to 6 p.m. On the menu is sirloin tips with all the fixings and dessert. Take-outs will be available also

The Princeton Parks & Recreation group held its second annual Halloween Costume Swap at the Princeton Public Library. This year, pumpkins were purchased in order to offer an opportunity for the kids to paint one and bring it home. The kids were really creative in their painting of their pumpkins. There was a wide variety of costumes to choose from, as well. 

Calais Community Hospital is excited to recognize National Rural Health Day on November 20 with a grand opening celebration of Baileyville Medical Center.

National Rural Health Day highlights the “Power of Rural” and honors the individuals and organizations committed to meeting the unique health care needs of nearly 61 million people living in rural America.

One of the youngest in attendance at Alexander Grange’s 2025 Veterans Day Flag Waving was Kiya Doliber, of Alexander. Kiya is the daughter of Kara and Willard Doliber.

Contributing to a collection of nearly 50 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for children are members of the Perry Congregational Church, including Jane Eaton, Louise Newcomb, Sandra Pottle, Ann Carter, with Doug and Anita Pottle.  This distribution is organized by Samaritan’s Purse of the Billy Graham Ministries to children the world over, which this year included additional contributions from the Dennysville and Sewall Congregational Churches, to name but a few in Washington County.

The Robbinston Historical Society invites the community to its Christmas Yard Sale, returning this Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shoppers will find a festive selection of holiday décor, gifts, and more, perfect for getting into the seasonal spirit. To keep warm while browsing, the sale will also feature hearty chili and chowder, available for $5 a bowl, for dine-in or take-out.
