Cook Makes First Team Selection

Lauren Cook, of Calais, was the only school girl player from Washington County to make all-tourney this season. The senior guard scored over 1,500 career points for the Blue Devils and was named to this year's first team, along with Owen Osborne MVP winner Maci Beals, of Central Aroostook; Breanna Bradbury, of Central Aroostook;  Peyton Grant, of Dexter; and Katherine Alley, of Stearns.

Annalys Robinson and Allison Alley, both of Stearns, and Libby Grass, of Central Aroostook, were named honorable mentions.

Pickleball to be Taught at Local Schools

St. Croix Valley Pickleball group has been taking Washington County by storm with all of its pickup games and tournaments happening over the past year. Although some children have joined in on the fun, Keith Ramos of the group believes that all kids should get the chance to play the game. Pickleball is a paddle ball sport combining components of table tennis, tennis, and badminton.

Outdoor Activities, Including Pickleball, Begin to Make a Comeback

St. Croix Valley Pickleball games have been put on pause since the month of March due to COVID-19. Tennis courts have finally reopened, and the game can be played once again with new rules and regulations. 

Games started back up again on Wednesday, May 27th at the Woodland Jr/Sr High School and the Calais tennis courts.
