Calais Skatepark Committee Most Stoked Jam

 

The Brendan Leddy Memorial Fund and Calais Skatepark Committee (CSC) had an excellent day at the park on Saturday for the Harvest Fest - Most Stoked Jam.

Participating were lots of young riders and some other middle-aged riders, and plans are underway to have many more events with very young and introductory-level riders for a couple years, until a core base of riders is established where they can push each other.

Expectations High for Blue Devils Basketball

The Calais boys, under second-year Blue Devil Coach Dean Preston, are anxious to get back on the court for regular season play this month.

Having lost two players from last season to graduation, the Blue Devils are determined to build on the chemistry they ended with last season, Preston explained.  The Blue Devils finished last year with a 10-9 record.

The Woodland girls’ varsity basketball team, led by second-year coach Mark Hornbrook, has 13 players on its roster this year.

Having lost just one player last season to graduation, Hornbrook said he is anticipating a more successful run this year with five seniors on the team and four returning starters.
