The first 8 months of President Biden have brought a perfect storm of an open southern Border, Afghanistan ignominy, Covid surges and freedom killing mandates, race hustling and racism disguised as critical race theory and anti-racism, climate alarmism on steroids, surging inflation and the destruction of the principle of equal justice, as Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters and arsonists skate while January 6th “white supremacist insurrectionists “have the book thrown at them.
Many of my right of center friends are in despair for the future of the country, and it is easy to see why. However, all is not lost yet. The climate alarmists have made their apocalyptic case by proclaiming we have less than a decade to save the planet. I think we have just over a year to save the Republic and freedom. If Biden and the woke left are not thoroughly routed in the Nov. 2022 elections, there will not be a functional Republic left to save in 2024. Even if the Democrats lose control of Congress, they will have done enough damage to our economy and future that American salvage and rescue will be an iffy proposition.
I am not looking for moderate and establishment Republicans to save the Republic. Bruce Poliquin is a good man, but he has not shown a willingness to challenge the left directly and repeatedly. Lovers of freedom are in an existential fight, and the first requirement in winning such a fight is admitting and proclaiming it. I know Susan Collins will not do that, because I do not think she believes it. Unless he has changed since 2018, Bruce Poliquin will not either. Paul LePage might, but I doubt it, especially if he listens to his political spin-doctors. Moreover, even if he does, LePage, like Trump, has so much political baggage that his efforts to defend freedom are more likely to backfire than succeed. I do not have much confidence in our sitting legislators either, although perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised. Existential crises sometimes bring out the best in people, even as the left consistently and often successfully exploits them.
With that in mind, here are the restorative actions and agenda I will be looking for Republicans asking my support to advocate:
• Impeach Biden - for the border, Afghanistan, reinstating and promoting Critical Race Theory, and stoking division in America whilst claiming to be a uniter;
• Impede Critical Race Theory - for the poisonous, racist, country killing Marxist swill that it is. Call out the National Education Association, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion advocates and the military and corporate leftist wokerati who promote CRT. Bring me the head of General Milley before he sacrifices any more American service members to the Democrat CRT racists.
• Implode the socialist and green new deal dreams of AOC, Bernie, et al, as well as Nancy Pelosi’s Botoxed forehead when she is removed. A full throated defense of capitalism, which has lifted more than a billion people out of misery and poverty, coupled with a vigorous condemnation of socialism, which has killed tens of millions and failed every time and in every manner it has been tried. Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea are not models for us to follow, but to shun.
• Imagine a society and country where the Constitution and the freedoms it protects is revered and protected, rather than denigrated as racist and thought to be malleable to progressive whims and court packing schemes.
The fainthearted need not apply.
