While many local high school sports fans are focused on basketball this time of year, it is also crunch time -- pun intended -- coaches, players, parents, and fans of the area’s high school cheering squads. 

And on Feb. 3, two Downeast cheerleading teams -- Woodland and Calais -- qualified for the state championship meet in Augusta this weekend. .
